Following his acquittal from corruption charges, it seems that politician Syed Saddiq is ready to get back to work – but what about his private life? In a recent interview, the 32-year-old admitted that he does have plans to get married.
Syed recently sat down with a local news outlet to discuss his corruption charges and his plans for the future. One of the topics brought up during the interview was his romantic life. When asked about whether he has plans to get married soon, the politician replied, “I would be lying if I said I wanted to stay single forever. I do have intentions of planning towards that direction (marriage).”
However, the politician hints that he won’t make any announcement anytime soon. Syed said, “In the process of building a family, we must respect our partner, families and their privacy. In those processes, allow my private life to remain private until it is time to share the news with everyone.” He added, “I’ll always be open to talk about politics, but when it involves others besides myself, I hope the process can be respected”.
Syed’s answer alludes to his highly sensationalised relationship with actress Bella Astillah. The pair first met for a brand campaign, but they have grown closer. Syed has often spoken fondly about Bella, and the actress was even in the courtroom during Syed’s corruption case hearing. However, the pair never explicitly mentioned they were dating each other.
Regardless, netizens have been cheering for the pair’s relationship for some time. Some even wished them to make things official and tie the knot. Fans have also reacted to Syed’s recent comment about marriage, saying they hope for good news from the two public figures soon. However, others argued that fans should respect Syed and Bella’s privacy, as requested by the Muar MP.
