ELFs (as fans of Super Junior are lovingly known), hold on tight because your days are about to get better!

Super Junior’s Shindong has been released from his mandatory military service just earlier today (Friday, 23rd December) at 8:30am Malaysian time, after serving his country in the band unit for a total of 21 months.

The 31-year-old dancer began his service on 24th March 2015, and upon his discharge, Leeteuk was there to welcome him. However, it wasn’t merely a gesture of brotherhood, as the leader was actually there to whisk him away for a variety show shooting!

Leeteuk “kidnapped” Shindong and dragged him into a car labelled “Headed To Incheon International Airport”. Shindong was caught unaware, but still seemed composed as he waved and greeted reporters and fans who were crowded around them.

It was revealed that Leeteuk and Shindong are currently filming for KBS’ “Battle Trip”, a show which pits teams together to find out who is the best at coming up with vacation plans. Shindong will also be starting his first schedule without any breaks in between, and SM Entertainment informed fans that he will only return home after filming for the show ends.

Meanwhile, fellow member Sungmin, who enlisted 7 days after Shindong, will be discharged on 30th December. Eunhyuk, Siwon, and Donghae, who enlisted in the same year, is expected to end their service around July or August 2017.

However, fans won’t be able to see all members of the group reunite anytime soon, as Ryeowook just enlisted on 11th October and Kyuhyun is slated to conscript in 2017. Kangin is also under an indefinite hiatus after his DUI (Drinking Under Influence) incident.
