Just because one owns a luxury car, does not mean one is the best driver. There have been plenty of cases involving drivers of crazy expensive vehicles getting into some trouble with the law like the time a whole convoy of Lamborghini drivers were caught recklessly driving on the road or when a Ford Mustang was found illegally parked on the pedestrian walkway at a shopping mall.
Tesla is also considered a luxury brand, in fact, one of the top brands of cars today. The company launched its operation in Malaysia last year and while this driver (presumably) got a sweet new ride, unfortunately, they have yet to improve their driving skills. Here’s what happened:
Earlier today (Wednesday, 23rd January), a video was posted on the Careta Facebook page that was submitted by user Shafiq Iman. The video showed a Tesla driver reversing on the left lane in the middle of the road after apparently missing their exit at an intersection. The incident was said to have taken place near the Sungai Besi toll plaza.
The post quickly garnered a lot of attention from netizens on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram after it was posted. Many condemned the driver for making a dangerous and unwise decision after missing an intersection on the road. Others shared similar stories of their encounter with reckless drivers on the road. Some also concluded that owning a luxury car doesn’t mean the driver is educated.
A few tagged the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) to investigate the issue. At the time of writing, no other witnesses have come forward with more information about the Tesla driver in the video.
Luckily, no one was hurt aside from it being a major inconvenience. So, word of advice, if you ever take the wrong lane or miss the exit at an intersection, just move forward and find your way back.
