The Gardens Mall’s Sweet 16
The Gardens Mall is celebrating its Sweet 16 and you’re all invited to the party! We hit up the shopping centre during a media get-together, when The Gardens Mall reflected on the milestones they’ve achieved over the years, and revealed what to look forward to during their birthday bash on 29th October 2023. Shoppers are invited to drop by to enjoy music and dance performances, close-up illusionists, and sweet treat giveaways at the mall’s concourse on the Ground Floor.
In addition to a fun Instagram contest, those who spend RM700 (RM600 for Standard Chartered credit cardholders or The Gardens Club members) and above in a single receipt* at any of the mall’s specialty stores – from now till 28th October – may redeem an iridescent umbrella and get a chance to receive one of the 16 grand prizes (listed on the image above, left) during the mall’s Sweet 16 Birthday Bash event!

A&W Malaysia Turns 60
Also celebrating a momentous milestone is the first fast food franchise in Malaysia – A&W. We were present and accounted for at A&W’s birthday celebration at its 100th store in 16 Sierra, Puchong, where they announced that they’re aiming for up to 150 A&W outlets across the country by 2025, and another 100 outlets in the following 3 years. In addition to physical expansion, A&W is embracing digitalization to enhance the customer experience. The company announced the forthcoming implementation of self-ordering kiosks at all its outlets – a technology-driven initiative that reflects A&W’s commitment to innovation and the utilisation of modern advancements.

Tesla Model 3 & Experience Centre Launch
We were on the scene for a dope double launch: the Tesla Model 3 and Malaysia’s first Tesla Experience Centre, at the newly-opened Pavilion Damansara Heights. We craned our necks for a look at the Model 3, the world’s best-selling electric sedan – and it’s indeed a looker! Priced starting at RM189,000, the car’s Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range versions accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds! FILA X Smiley Pop-up
We checked out the FILA x Smiley pop-up at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall! The pop-up celebrates the collaboration between sportswear brand FILA and the Smiley brand, as they launch the new FILA Tennis Club collection. Upon entering the mall’s Blue Atrium concourse, a giant smiling tennis ball installation greeted us. We also got to look at all the stunning pieces from the newly-launched collection.
While the collection boasts several new apparel pieces and footwear, its highlight is FILA’s Original Tennis OG 1985, a renewed version of the classic tennis shoe that put the brand on the map. The new FILA Tennis Club collection is exclusive to selected Southeast Asian regions, including Malaysia, and only available at USC (Sports Direct) stores.

New Era’s First Malaysian Flagship Store

Prime Video’s “That Cover Girl” Premiere Screening
Who doesn’t love a good old TV series about the fashion industry? We certainly do! The premiere screening of Prime Video’s “That Cover Girl” series took place at the Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur and we were one of the lucky ones to watch the first episode!
The star-studded event also featured a catwalk show by influencers, as well as the show’s main cast; Siti Saleha, Hisyam Hamid, Alicia Amin, and Aiman Hakim, who were accompanied by singers Masha Milan and Hazama singing songs from the series’ official soundtrack. OATSIDE Dessert Trail
If it’s one thing we love just as much as entertainment, it’s food – especially desserts! re! From 1st to 30th November, dessert enthusiasts are invited to immerse themselves in the mouth-watering OATSIDE Dessert Trail that features over 50 cafes participating in the campaign!

Wardrobe Weddings Launch
We were given a peek at the new collection of homegrown bespoke men’s tailoring brand, Wardrobe! Wardrobe Weddings 2023/2024 was launched at the store’s Bangsar outlet, with the theme #All Eyes On Me.
The event’s centrepiece was a fashion show featuring 12 carefully-curated looks that highlighted Wardrobe’s style, tailoring craftsmanship, and versatility, offering grooms a diverse range of options to suit any wedding setting. Marimekko Outlet Opening Ceremony
We were front and centre for the launch of the first Marimekko store in Malaysia! The store in Suria KLCC is the Finnish design house’s first expansion into the Malaysian market, offering locals a better opportunity to shop their high-quality fashion and lifestyle products. Marimekko fans can now directly shop the products from their catalogue, which features everything from beautifully made dresses to the iconic logo tote bags.
The President and CEO of Marimekko, Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, officiated the opening and gave a beautiful speech to attending guests. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, she also made a toast with guests before inviting everyone into the lively store. Marimekko’s bold and vibrant prints have been badges of positivity and personal empowerment ever since 1951. The brand’s lifelong mission is to bring colour and joy into the lives and homes of its customers – and we can’t wait to see the brand achieve the mission here in Malaysia!

K-Food Fair KL 2023 Opening Ceremony
Korea has introduced a lot of their culture to the world, and while some may not have the taste for K-pop (horror, we know), most are deeply in love with Korean food. Luckily for us, the K-Food Fair made its return to Malaysia recently, allowing local foodies to visit Sunway Pyramid and indulge in the best of Korean cuisine.
From enjoying Bibimbap at the Bibimbap Ceremony, witnessing K-Pop Cover Dances and a Taekwondo performance, to playing traditional games such as Tuho and Jegichagi, posing in Hanbok at the K-Food photobooth and of course, perusing their vast offerings of food, the K-Food Fair certainly brought everything and more to appreciative Malaysians.

Triumph A/W23 Collection Launch
Confidence is key to anything, and Triumph knows that very well. Just recently, we got to witness the debut of their new Signature Sheer collection, a wardrobe of contemporary pieces created to be both fashionable, yet comfortable for all women alike.
Aiming to support women, both literally and figuratively, Signature Sheer will allow women to look good and feel confident while taking on the world. Of course, while clothes help boost our confidence, a pep talk from none other than Deborah Priya Henry, Miss Universe Malaysia 2011, helped too! Here’s what went down at the launch:
