Many celebrities have shared their health struggles with the public, drawing a wave of support from fans and netizens. Recently, veteran singer Barry Manilow revealed a serious health issue, sparking concern from fans.
On 22nd December 2025 (Monday), Barry took to his social media to share a recent update on his health after suffering from bronchitis for several months. Despite already recovering, the singer took his doctor’s advice and did an MRI scan. Unfortunately, the scan discovered a cancerous spot on his left lung.
Thankfully, the scan helped doctors detect the cancer cells early, so no chemotherapy or radiation therapy is needed. However, Barry said he still needed to undergo surgery to remove the cancerous spot. As such, the 82-year-old has rescheduled his upcoming January arena tour to new dates to prepare for the surgery and the recovery period.
In his post, Barry shared the new dates for his arena tour, which will now take place from February to April. He also added that his Valentine’s weekend shows at the Westgate Las Vegas remain unchanged. The singer finished up his post, wishing fans a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and urging them to get tested for any health issues if they have any symptoms.

Fans have reacted to the news, extending words of support to Barry. Many also wished him a smooth surgery and speedy recovery. Some also mentioned that it was good that the doctors were able to detect the cancer early on, allowing for the veteran singer to undergo a simple surgery rather than chemotherapy.
Impressively, this appears to be the only major health issue in Barry’s 60-year career. Nevertheless, we wish Barry all the best with his surgery and recovery. May he be cancer-free and ready to perform as soon as possible.
