Some celebrities have a lot to be grateful for this Mother’s Day. Last week, singer Shila Amzah and her husband Ubai Mz shared exciting news about the birth of their daughter Rhea Akira. The celebrity couple even posted a heartwarming video that documented the singer’s journey into labour.
It seems that another pop star has also given birth to her second child a few days later. Yesterday (Sunday, 12th May), Singaporean singer Stella Ng announced on Instagram that she has safely given birth to a beautiful baby boy, Elliot.
Over the weekend, the 43-year-old updated her fans that she’s close to her due date by showcasing her very pregnant belly in a few posts but who would’ve thought that the baby would be born exactly on Mother’s Day? While the “Gentle Mercy” star did not share much details on the delivery, she did reveal that her second son weighs 3.71kg and wished everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.
In the announcement post, the caption was written by the singer’s husband Jon from the perspective of their newborn child. “Happy Mother’s Day Mummy, I waited so long to meet you. I want you to know that I would not have made it this far without you. I love the sound of your voice. Daddy tells me the greatest gift he could ever give me is to have you as my Mummy. And, I think he is right. I love you, Mummy,” the caption reads.
Fans and celebrity friends flooded the comments section congratulating the couple on the arrival of their first baby together. For your information, the two actually found out about the pregnancy just two weeks before their wedding last year.
In an interview with AsiaOne, Stella said that they couldn’t wait to have a child together because of their age. “I had Ashton when I was 32 years old and now I am pregnant at 43. I definitely feel the fatigue and backaches more,” she described the pregnancy back then.
Her first son Asthton, who is 10 years old, is currently living with her ex-husband Armstrong Yeh in Japan. While she misses having her boy around, she’s happy that he gets to spend more time with his father. Thankfully for Stella Ng, she has her husband Jon and their newborn son Elliot to keep her company.
