Earlier this year, singer Shila Amzah and her husband Ubai Mz were one of the many celebrities who announced that they were expecting a baby. The 33-year-old has been sharing updates on her second pregnancy journey on social media, including the time when she thought that the baby was arriving sooner than expected.
Thankfully it was a false alarm at the time but it looks like the actual birth date has finally arrived! Both the artist and husband took to Instagram to announce the arrival of their little bundle of joy was born yesterday (Thursday, 9th May).
As seen in the photo above, Shila Amzah and Ubai posed happily together in her hospital room next to their first child together. The influencer revealed how difficult it was seeing his wife in pain during labour but grateful that everything went well. “The feelings I experienced were indescribable and I thank Allah for blessing us. Assalamualaikum our dear princess, Rhea Akira ❤️,” he wrote.
The now mother-of-two posted a video documenting her time at the hospital a day before her daughter’s arrival. The “Cinta Hati” songstress revealed that it was not possible for her to deliver her child the natural way so the doctors had to resort to Cesarean delivery (C-section), making this her second time going through the procedure.
Thankfully, the surgery went smoothly and Shila said that she was able to endure the pain better than the first time when her son Seth was born. “Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I’ll be sure to recover as soon as I can and bounce back in no time. For now, we’re just going to enjoy sniffing our baby,” said the happy mother who had her newborn next to her.
Both fans and celebrity friends congratulated the couple on the birth of their first child together. A few also advised Ubai to tone down his jokes as excessive laughter would complicate his wife’s recovery. Even though she just had her baby, Shila still managed to take some time to answer questions about her pregnancy, the meaning behind her daughter’s name and the delivery process on IG Stories.
