Malaysian singer Shila Amzah (茜拉) became a household name in China after appearing in two popular singing competitions, “Asian Wave (声动亚洲)” and “I Am A Singer (我是歌手)”. After a ten-year break and many requests from fans, the singer has announced that she’s ready to take on yet another competition.
On 9th September (Monday), Shila announced through her Instagram account that she is participating in a new singing competition in China. In the post, the singer wrote, “Assalamualaikum everyone! Sha (Shila’s nickname) will compete in China in the “Singing With Legends” Season 6 program, which will begin soon. Wish me luck, (and) pray everything will go smoothly for Sha’s new journey.”

“Singing With Legends ((我们的歌)” is a competition that pairs renowned veteran singers with their juniors as they perform on the same stage. The sixth season features an impressive lineup of stars, including Hong Kong singer Leo Ku (古巨基) and Danish band Michael Learns To Rock. According to reports, Shila will join the program as part of Group E. The 34-year-old, whose real name is Nurshahila binti Amir Amzah, also clarified that her performance has yet to go on air but will be available on YouTube.
The singer’s comeback in China is especially significant to the mother-of-two as she previously revealed that she was banned by Hunan TV, the country’s top broadcasting company, because of her former manager. Before the ban, the Malaysian star was one of the most sought-after international performers in the country. Shila had voiced disappointment about the Hunan TV ban because she was innocent during the whole ordeal, but assured fans that she’s working towards rebuilding her career in China.
After her announcement, many fans started sharing their excitement of finally seeing Shila in another Chinese singing competition. Her fellow celebrities have also shown support, wishing her all the best as she competes alongside other performers. Shila’s Chinese fans have also excitedly welcomed her return to the Chinese entertainment industry. Many also hope her appearance will open more opportunities to perform in the country.

We would also like to wish Shila good luck in her new competition. We also hope she’ll have a smooth journey in China.
