The infamous Alice Chang is back in the spotlight. After being dismissed from Auntie Anne’s at Mid Valley Megamall, she attempted to find work at Cold Stone Creamery in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and later at McDonald’s in SS2. The sister of con artist Adeline Chang had previously accused the manager of the McDonald’s outlet of harassment, which likely explains her departure from there.

Regardless, despite her very public history of getting terminated by these Food and Beverage establishments, she somehow recently landed a job at an unspecified Nando’s outlet. As you may have already guessed, she was also fired after working for just a day. Here’s what happened:

Alice once again shared photos of herself working at her new part-time job at a Nando’s restaurant. However, while employed there, she violated company policy by posting images of confidential areas of the restaurant. As a result, the brand has terminated her employment. In an official statement released yesterday (Thursday, 18th October), Nando’s Malaysia said, “It was discovered that Ms. Chang failed to disclose her previous work experiences during the hiring process. Despite this, she reported for her first shift earlier today and subsequently published images of confidential areas of our restaurant on her social media channel, which constitutes a clear violation of company policy.”

The company added that they will conduct a thorough disinfection and will ensure similar incidents will not happen again. Although the specific Nando’s outlet where she worked was not disclosed, netizens suspect it was the branch at Sunway Putra Mall. Following the official statement, many began to question how Alice managed to secure jobs so quickly. Some wondered whether these food establishments conduct thorough background checks before hiring. Others suggested that the self-proclaimed internet celebrity may be deliberately targeting the food and beverage industry to highlight how easy it is for anyone to find employment.

At this rate, there’s no telling which food outlet Alice will be hitting up next. Let’s hope that other companies will learn from these recent incidents and be on the lookout for anyone suspicious by doing proper background checks. What do you think of the situation?
