Remember last month when Selena Gomez shared about her secret surgery?

The 25-year-old singer is finally opening up about how her longtime bestie, Francia Raisa, saved her life. In speaking with the “Today Show” host, Savannah Gunthrie, the duo opened up about this shared experience that changed their lives.

As many of you may know, the “Bad Liar” singer has been battling autoimmune disease lupus for the past 2 years. “My kidneys were just done,” said Gomez while wiping away tears. “That was it. I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life, and that was the day I came home and found out. She volunteered and did it.”

When the interviewer asked, “You feel that Francia saved your life?” The pop star responded without hesitation, “Because she did. That’s it. I guess I got to the point where it was really, kind of, life or death.” After the surgery, Gomez shared a heartwarming photo of her and Raisa holding hands on their hospital beds.
