“What if I told you the reality you know is one of many?”
The 2016 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), which was held over the weekend, allowed fans to step into the magical world of superheroes and super-villains as powerhouses Warner Bros., DC Entertainment, and Marvel dropped teaser after teaser, and trailer after trailer of their offerings at their respective panels.
But it wasn’t limited to SDCC attendees alone as fans from all over the world were collectively flipping out as videos and interviews rolled in. One such video that successfully bowled fans over was none other than the new “Doctor Strange” trailer.
The footage, which debuted during Marvel’s SDCC panel, gave attendees a closer look at English actor Benedict Cumberbatch as surgeon-turned-sorcerer, the Sorcerer Supreme.
The official synopsis is as follows:
“Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilising a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artefacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.”
We’ve already seen a generous amount of footage (bless Marvel!) in the 1st trailer that was released back in April this year. Director Scott Derrickson retained some of the same shots for the 2nd trailer, but also made way for the other characters, namely supervillains Baron Mordo (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Kaecilius (played by Mads Mikkelsen) via some never-before-seen scenes.

True to the nature of the story, the trailer also includes some very intense, mind-bending footage like a cross between “Inception” and Marvel’s version of “The Matrix”. It’s magic, it’s strange (no pun intended), and November can’t come soon enough.

“Doctor Strange” also stars Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, and Benedict Wong. The film will be released worldwide on 4th November 2016.
