Things have been heating up in the entertainment industry lately with the whole Aliff Aziz and Ruhainies khalwat scandal. The issue escalated rather quickly to the point that Bella Astillah, who is married to Aliff, filed for divorce from her husband.
Both Aliff and Ruhainies did not release a full statement out of fear that it might cause more misunderstanding but yesterday (Thursday, 14th March), the two co-stars finally explained exactly what happened. Ruhainies claimed that the whole issue was all a misunderstanding. According to the actress, she and her assistant were just finishing up work and decided to have dinner with the actress’s siblings who had plans of staying over at her place.
Coincidentally, she ran into Aliff after he finished filming and invited him over since he was well-acquainted with her family. Unfortunately, Ruhainies sister, Risteena Munim, was stuck in traffic so it was only her and her co-star at her apartment. The statement added that the two celebs were simply chatting when they suddenly heard a knocking at the door. Fearing for her safety, Ruhainies called her sister to verify the identity of the strange men outside who claimed to be from JAWI.
It was said that Risteena, Bella Astillah and members of the media were there during the entire confrontation. Ruhainies then thanked the authorities for being cooperative and everyone was taken to the nearest statement to file their statements. Towards the end of the statement, the actress said, “I love and cherish my friendship with Bella and hope that she and Aliff won’t be separated. I’m willing to talk with her about this once she’s ready.”
Aliff Aziz’s statement about the situation is similar to his co-star’s. He added that it was their mistake for not waiting in the lobby for the others to arrive. “I went up with [Ruhainies] to her unit without properly thinking that it would have led to the incident that happened,” he said. The actor ended his statement by admitting his mistake and that he’s now facing the consequences of his actions.
Netizens, however, were not buying their stories. After the statements were reposted, many said that the two stars should’ve known better. Some blamed Ruhainies for inviting a friend’s husband behind her back while others blamed Aliff for not knowing boundaries, especially after what happened last time. Others pointed out how neither of them mentioned anything about Bella Astillah being aware of the dinner invite. A few accused them of lying about the whole thing.
Speaking of Bella, she previously broke her silence about the matter in court after filing for divorce. Yesterday, she spoke with the media saying that she doesn’t want to prolong this ordeal so instead, she has chosen to forgive Ruhainies despite not being contacted by her after the incident. While forgiveness doesn’t necessarily mean the two would remain friends, one can assume that things will definitely not be the same anymore.
