Global superstar Jackson Wang (王嘉尔/잭슨) may have departed from Malaysia recently but his presence still lingers among fans whom he had made wonderful memories with. The GOT7 member recently explained why he spent weeks in our home country, saying that he was actually working on new music which is set to be released next year.

Although the idol is currently at another destination, his Malaysian fans haven’t quite moved on. In fact, his latest photoshoot for a famous magazine publication had many of his admirers here suggesting that he was thinking of them. Here’s why:

Earlier this week, Jackson Wang posted photos from his recent photoshoot with Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia for the August 2024 edition of the popular magazine. As always, the 30-year-old looked ethereal in all the photos but one particular shot caught the eyes of his Malaysian fans.

The image showed the shirtless singer on his knees posing next to a large piece of shredded paper. Reposted by @/msiakpopfans on Twitter, the photo was captioned, “Jackson in Roti Tisu core”. Since then, local fans could not unsee the resemblance. Many joked that the large prop does indeed look like the famous Roti Tisu dish while others suggested that it must’ve been the GOT7 member’s idea since he’s known to hang out at Mamak restaurants every time he visits the country.

A few argued that the prop looks more like the wrapping paper for Nasi Lemak. If you ask us, we personally think both interpretations of the photo make sense.

Whether or not the Roti Tisu/Nasi Lemak concept was intentional, it certainly left fans hungry for more. Who knows, maybe we’ll get a special Roti Tisu variation named after the superstar.
