Global superstar Jackson Wang (王嘉尔/잭슨) has been spending much of his time in Malaysia lately. Even after making his grand appearance at the recent Louis Vuitton event at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, he has yet to return home, much to local fans’ delight.
A couple of lucky fans shared their experiences of meeting the idol on Sunday (28th July), when they were all dining at the same Korean restaurant in Petaling Jaya. These fortunate girls even received something special from the GOT7 member. Here’s what happened:
Twitter user @/A_N_G_I_E94 posted a thread on Twitter of her encounter with Jackson Wang. According to the post, she coincidentally parked right in front of QingHeGu Restaurant, a Korean BBQ restaurant at Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya to make a phone call when she spotted the singer and his team entering the premises. She brought her daughter inside where the two excitedly (and respectfully) approached the 30-year-old.
Jackson asked for the woman’s daughter’s name, to which she answered, “Sophia” before the little girl asked him to sign her favourite photo of him. “The way he smiles at my girl is so precious,” the user described. As aforementioned, that wasn’t the only fan interaction that took place at the restaurant. Another fan, who goes by @/hannahisvip, was over the moon after finding out that Jackson treated her and her friends to a kimchi pancake.
“The staff suddenly served us [the dish] that we didn’t order 😳. He then pointed to Jackson’s table and said he asked them to serve us. [Jackson] turned over to us to smile and told us to enjoy our meal 😭,” she wrote. In a follow-up tweet, the fan thanked the entertainer for the treat and for recognising them, possibly from previous events or meetups, saying that she felt like she was in a dream.
From the replies and quotes, everyone was happy for the lucky fans who got to meet Jackson and were glad to know he really is humble and nice in person. Will there be more fan stories with the idol before he departs to his next destination? Guess we’ll wait and see.
