Beloved skincare brand The Ordinary believes that hydrated skin is healthy skin – and they’re continuing their mission to hydrate your skin with their latest innovation. The new Rice Lipids + Ectoin Microemulsion is a science-driven, ultra-lightweight moisturiser designed to deliver 24-hour hydration while supporting your skin’s natural barrier.

Softer, smoother, and more radiant skin starts with balanced hydration. Unlike traditional moisturizers, which can feel heavy due to thick or oily textures, this formula combines lightweight rice lipids with jojoba oil to lock in moisture without weighing the skin down.

This new moisturising serum comes with several key benefits, including:

  • Supports the skin barrier
  • Hydrates for 24 hours
  • Boosts radiance and smoothness
  • Lightweight, non-greasy feel

The Ordinary’s unique microfluidisation process harmonises water-loving and oil-loving ingredients into a silky, stable emulsion. This allows hydration and moisturisation to work together efficiently, without relying heavily on emulsifiers or creating a heavy texture.

The “secret” to the serum are the science-backed ingredients, which are:

  • Rice Lipids: Rich in phytosterols, they support the skin barrier and help seal in moisture
  • Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMFs): Attract and retain water for long-lasting hydration
  • Ectoin: Hydrates and soothes rough skin, inspired by its natural protective role in extreme environments
  • Jojoba Oil: Conditions and reinforces the skin barrier with a lightweight, sebum-like texture

By combining the benefits of water-based and oil-based moisturizers in one lightweight formulation, Rice Lipids + Ectoin Microemulsion delivers optimal hydration, barrier support, and comfort—making it perfect for daily use on all skin types.

The Rice Lipids + Ectoin Microemulsion is available at The Ordinary stores in Malaysia and online at RM88 each (60ml).
