While the pandemic has certainly switched things up, there’s no reason not to make this year’s Ramadan special. Here are some offers you can enjoy, be it at home or outside with family and friends (while following the SOPs, of course).

2. Shook! The Starhill Dining

Longing for some kampung nostalgia? You’ll find yourself right at home when dining in at Shook!’s ‘Selera Kampong Enak’ buffet. Many of the traditional Malay dishes are based on kampung recipes passed down through generations. Our top 3 favourites were Ayam Goreng Tepung (fried bishop nose with flour), the super tender braised beef in spice coconut, and the creamy Ikan Masak Lemak Tempoyak (fish cooked with fermented durian paste).

Of course, we also love their rich and flavourful oxtail soup, juicy roasted lamb, plus the chicken and beef satay sticks. Although the fruits served in bottles weren’t particularly fresh, other desserts such as cendol, kuih-muih, and rojak were a nice balance to our meal.

  • RM98++(Adult)

3. The Spread Restaurant, Gardens Hotel

If you like a spread of famous Malaysian classics, we strongly suggest trying The Spread Restaurant’s Bazaar Ria buffet dinner! Their menu boasts items like kerabu daging ala Thai, udang masak nenas and Kashmiri biryani. Of course, their must-trys are the Kashmiri biryani rice with kambing bakar and ayam percik. There are also several desserts available for you to end your dinner on a sweet note, such as eclairs, agar-agar cendol, and assorted ice cream. Make sure to bring your appetite because when we say a spread, we mean it!

The buffet is priced at RM98 per person and RM64 per child. If you’d rather enjoy the meal in the comfort of your home, there is a takeaway option with a special set menu. You can either choose a Combo Set that feeds up to six people or have a la carte dishes such as lamb biryani, ayam percik or rendang tok.
