This year’s Ramadan Bazaars (23rd April – 23rd May) will be different due to the movement control order (MCO) to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Instead of the annual markets and gatherings, many traders will be taking their business online. Just like GrabFood and FoodPanda, more business owners around the country have turn to delivery services.

“Traders will post their menu in these groups while people can browse the pages and choose which delicacies they want. They will send message via WhatsApp to these respective traders and runners will pick the meals up and deliver them to the customers,” said Siti Nur Hanani, who sells fried chicken on her online platform.

Although you won’t be able to go out and shop for food like you’d normally do, you can still get your favourite local noms via the virtual bazaar.

Update:

Grab Malaysia is also partnering with governments of Selangor and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur to make e-Bazar Ramadan a reality. In addition to digitising our beloved Bazar Ramadan, there will also be special curated menus with restaurant partners to bring you timeless favourites such as Ayam Percik, Murtabak, Roti John, and more.
