People are always eager to see what Prince Abdul Mateen uploads on his socials. Recently, the Brunei Prince sent his followers into a frenzy with a photo of his younger self with Queen Elizabeth II.
Yesterday (Thursday, 2nd June), Prince Mateen, who’s the fourth son of the Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkhiah, posted a throwback photo of him with Queen Elizabeth II, in honour of Her Royal Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee celebration.
For those unaware, Queen Elizabeth II recently celebrated the Platinum Jubilee, to mark 70 years on the throne. Many well-known figures also took to their respective social media accounts to share congratulatory messages to the Queen. Among those include Prince Mateen himself.
The Asian royal heartthrob shared a throwback shot of himself and the current ruling monarch. “My warmest congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on her Platinum Jubilee,” the 30-year-old captioned the snap. The photo has since received 122k likes on IG, and has received tons of reactions from netizens online.
In this case, the replies space has been flooded with fans gushing over Prince Mateen’s youthful appearance as seen in the throwback pic. “In what year was this photo taken?” one netizen asked him, to which another added, “You look like an 18-year-old in this pic“. Meanwhile, there were also some who expressed their astonishment upon seeing the post. To quote one commenter, “(But) how’d you even get to meet her? Lol! Lucky. That’s pretty cool.”
