#PowerRangers: Mid-Credits Scene Confirmed; 2 Original Cast To Cameo

Come next week, fans will be on the go-go to cinemas to watch Lionsgate’s live-action blockbuster, “Power Rangers”.

Here’s a tip for all you moviegoers: Don’t leave before the credits end as they will be a bonus scene. Just like “Kong: Skull Island”, the post-credits scene for “Power Rangers” will help set up the sequel.

During a recent interview with Collider, director Dean Israelite confirmed that the mid-credits scene was purposely added. “There was always going to be a post-credit thing. The only question was whether it comes 2.5 minutes into the credits, or right at the end. We decided to break (the credits) up and go 2.5 minutes in. It felt correct,” said the filmmaker.

As for what will be shown during that bonus scene, rumour has it that it will be about Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger. According to Comic Book, although Tommy may not physically appear, the film’s reference will tease the debut for the character. Perhaps they’ll recover the Green Ranger coin after defeating Rita Repulsa?

In addition, 2 cast from the original “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” will be making cameos in the upcoming film. They are Jason David Frank and Amy Jo Johnson, who previously played the Green and Pink Rangers, respectively.

Given that their roles are only listed as Cameo Role #1 and Cameo Role #2, the actors’ screen time might be a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it type appearances. We don’t know why the other cast weren’t invited back, but the inclusion of Frank and Johnson will certainly bring a bit of much-wanted nostalgia.

“Power Rangers” is expected to debut in cinemas on 24th March 2017.
