Calling all local art enthusiasts, we come bearing delightful news for you! If visiting art galleries is your thing, then be prepared to elevate your art-viewing experience to the next level.

W Kuala Lumpur has collaborated with Gallery des Artiste to present a curated selection of interactive artwork crafted by a team of talented artists collectively known as Gung HO. The project is aptly referred to as “Art In Hotel”. Hotel guests will get the opportunity to explore and immerse themselves in the vibrant and colourful art pop world of Gung HO and co.

Read on to get to know more about the “Art In Hotel” collections here:

1. “Porte-cochere”

  • Location: Ground floor

Gung HO’s Pop Orient is a new vibe in Pop Art with a Chinese twist. Sexy and modern, the collection consists of unique, sophisticated pieces of art and design. Additionally, French artist Hersk paid tribute to Malaysia’s iconic Twin Towers with a Pop wedding cake design and green foliage, which is also displayed at the ground floor of the hotel.

2. “Crazy Asians”

  • Location: WOOBAR, 8th floor

Gung HO’s Crazy Asians collection was created amid the lockdown period during the Covid-19 pandemic. The strong and vivid art pieces bring W KL’s WOOBAR to life with its vigorous pop art graphic. Needless to say, we were absolutely blown away by the eye-popping imagery displayed in these stunning pieces of art!

3. Buzz Light Words Collection “Love”

  • Location: Flock, 8th Floor

Buzz Light Words is a collection by Shy Guy, an American artist based in Asia, in collaboration with Gung HO. The collection features pieces of typographic art and neon art that conveys strong and powerful messages about our world today. Our personal favourite would definitely be the “Girls Just Wanna Have Funds” artwork.

4. “YEN”

  • Location: 11th floor

For those who are curious, this is how the fantasitc collab between W Kuala Lumpur and Gallery des Artistes officially kicked off. Gung HO’s Pop Orient Chinese Collection includes paintings and other art pieces, including the Lazy Susan turntable, glass art, as well as an antique porter chair covered in art.

Our beautiful green city of Kuala Lumpur is honoured with a collection of two murals themed “Jungle In The City” that were made in France. It didn’t just stop there! The highlight of the show is also the artists’ newest art collection, “Empress Chill”. Gung HO prefers to connect with local culture through their art experiences – and it’s deliberately executed through their mind-blowing art pieces.
