It’s that time of the year again! The Miss Hong Kong Pageant (香港小姐競選/Miss HK) is kicking off its 2026 edition with the first round of recruitment interviews. As with every edition, netizens look forward to seeing aspiring contestants aiming for the coveted crown.
The auditions began on 2nd June 2026 (Tuesday), a week after the global recruitment and online application closed on 25th May 2026 (Monday). Reports say that nearly 100 hopeful participants gathered at TVB City in New Territories, Hong Kong, for the first round of interviews, with more contestants set to appear later this week.

As usual, this year’s audition saw a diverse mix of participants. The pool includes pageant veterans and former child stars. Virginia Lok, Assistant General Manager of Artist Management and Development at TVB, described several participants as “cute” and full of potential. She also revealed that some contestants have gotten high scores from the judges.
However, the reaction online has been lukewarm. Some netizens didn’t even hold back their criticism, lamenting that the contestants weren’t up to their expectations. Despite the criticism, there were a few standouts, including 25-year-old Winnie Lam, who said she previously acted in TVB dramas as a child.
Another notable contestant is Shania Fu, the winner of the Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant 2024. Another pageant veteran in this year’s competition is Helen Liu, who won the Miss Exhibition Pageant in 2025. With their experience in pageant competitions, both contestants reportedly had more confidence in front of the camera than the other contestants.

Many other hopefuls have also left a strong impression on netizens with their distinctive looks. According to the Miss HK Instagram page, the theme for this year’s pageant is “Dare To Be Perfect” or “敢 · 至完美”. The slogan encourages contestants to embrace challenges, express their true selves and strive for perfection.
As auditions continue, we’ll see more photos of the contestants and probably learn more about their background and personality. Nevertheless, we wish all the hopefuls good luck and all the best in their interviews.
