K-drama fans, here’s something exciting! South Korean actor Park Bo Gum is officially returning as the host of the 2026 MAMA AWARDS, and this time, he’s taking on an even bigger role!
During a media event held in Seoul on 29th October 2026, organizers announced that the actor would be hosting the awards ceremony for the 8th time, having first taken on the role in 2017.
But that’s not all! Park Bo Gum has also been named the first-ever MAMA AWARDS Ambassador, a newly introduced role that will see him connecting the musical journey across both nights of the ceremony.
A Special Role For Park Bo Gum!
This year’s MAMA AWARDS will follow the theme “MUSIC INTERSTELLAR,” bringing together artists and fans through music, inspired by the idea of discovering one’s own star.
The theme also carries the message “MUSIC MAKES ONE,” celebrating how music connects people across different places and cultures.
Speaking about Park Bo Gum’s appointment, Yoon Shin Hye, head of Mnet’s business division, praised the actor’s passion for music and his long-standing connection with the awards ceremony.
Park Bo Gum also shared his excitement about returning, promising fans a memorable experience.
“As a storyteller, I’ll share a variety of stories with you. You can look forward to stages filled with surprises and emotion, from special performances to collaborative stages,” he said.

The 2026 MAMA AWARDS will take place on 20th and 21st November 2026 at the Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan.
