These Japanese cheese tarts are drool-worthy, sweet and savoury, and now the incredibly dreamy dessert is opening its first branch right here on our local shores!

Yep, get excited folks cause Japan’s famous tart shop, Pablo, is set to open its first Malaysian flagship outlet in 1 Utama Shopping Centre this coming October, followed by more branches around the Klang Valley.

Originating from Osaka, these flavoury Japanese cheese tarts is best known for its ooey-gooey cheese filling in the tart. What sets them apart from other cheese tarts is the unique, fluffy texture found in the filling, which can be cooked “rare” or “medium”. A “rare” cheese tart has a much softer and creamy filling in the centre while the “medium” cooked tart is said to be firmer and more velvety.

Aside from its rich gooey desserts and classic cheese, Pablo also offers a variety of other flavours including chocolate, strawberry, four cheeses, and even seasonal flavours (which are introduced every month) like matcha green tea. If that’s not enough, the dessert shop also has the mouth-watering New York cheesecake, cheese soft-serve ice cream, and even cheese shakes!

People from all over the world who have tasted these cheese tarts flavours and can’t get enough of them have been singing Pablo’s praises. It’s no wonder that with 20 outlets already opened in Japan alone, Pablo’s cheese tarts have become a tourist attraction in their hometown of Osaka.

Interestingly, Malaysia is Pablo’s first store in Southeast Asia and their 3rd overseas store after South Korea and Taiwan. They will be going head to head with 2 other Japanese inspired baked cheese tarts – Tokyo Secret (which also has an outlet in 1 Utama) and local produced Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart.

We don’t know about y’all but we’re really looking forward at getting our hands on these yummilicious Japanese dessert!
