Admittedly, your mind isn’t in the right place if you’re heartbroken. Many would typically shut off from the world or even turn to social media to distract their mind. However, this foreigner in Johor Bahru decided that it was a good idea to go for a walk after going through a breakup – but did it while he was bare-naked.

The CCTV footage of the man’s nude escapade went viral on various social media sites. The incident reportedly happened at Permas Jaya, Johor Bahru. In the video shared by Buletin TV3, the man was walking around in a commercial area naked before several police officers ambushed him. The officers pinned him down and started to force the man to put some clothes on. The foreigner was then escorted into the police car and driven to the police station.

According to news reports, the incident happened on the early morning of 19th January (Friday) at around 2pm. South Johor Bahru District Police Headquarters said they received a report of a naked man sighted in the Permas Jaya area at around 10pm the night before. Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said the suspect did not show any signs of a mental illness and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the arrest. However, police believed he acted in such a manner because he was heartbroken after getting dumped by his girlfriend.

The suspect is currently under investigation under Section 509 of the Penal Code for intending to insult the modesty of any person. If found guilty, the man could face jail time for up to five years, a fine or both. Netizens have also reacted to the viral video, showing a mix of amusement and concern for the man’s action. Some also questioned his sanity, given that his first reaction after facing a breakup was to walk around naked.

Kudos to the police for taking action towards the suspect – but we hope the man will get help if he is suffering from any mental issues.
