Nike Malaysia unveiled the new Malaysia National Team Kit at Majlis Sukan Negara Malaysia (MSN) which combines cutting edge innovations that help our players to optimise their performance on the pitch.

The design of the home kit embodies Malaysian pride in a whole new way, giving the team kit a facelift by revamping the tigers and modernising the quintessential stripes.

The design features an all-black base, with striking yellow detailing. The away kit also features a change in base colour to white with blue detailing at the sides.

The Home and Away kit sees the introduction of the new Nike Dri-FIT technology with laser-cut ventilation holes and mesh panels in key areas to improve performance by increasing air circulation to the players’ bodies and helping regulate their temperatures.

“While the new kit receives a revamp in its looks, it supports players with the latest Nike innovations in fabric construction, performance technology, and moisture management – all of which are vital for the players’ performance,” said Nino Priambodo, Malaysia Country Marketing Manager, Nike.

At the launch, Malaysia National Team Vice Captain, Baddrol Bakhtiar, alongside national footballers Zaquan Adha, Matt Davies, and Nazirul Naim donned the new designs in a display of pride and team spirit.

“As athletes, the smallest detail counts especially the lightness and breathability of the jerseys, and with this new kit, the new innovation will help elevate our performance,” Malaysia National Team captain Baddrol Bakhtiar gushed.

National team head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee was also present at the launch.

Some fun facts about the revamped National Team Kit:

  • The Malaysia National Team Kit sees a refresh every 2 years, but this is the first time that the jersey is taking on an all-black base.
  • The launch of the new kit also marks the 10-year anniversary of Nike Malaysia and Harimau Malaysia’s collaboration. Nike Malaysia has been manufacturing the Malaysia National Team Kit since 2006.
  • The kit’s shirt and shorts are constructed with polyester fabric made from recycled plastic bottles melted down to produce a fine yarn. Each kit is made using approximately 16 recycled plastic bottles.
  • The Malaysia National Team Kit will officially debut at the eagerly anticipated 2016 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship Cup (officially known as the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016) in Myanmar and Philippines starting Saturday (19th November 2016).

The new and exclusive Malaysia National Team Kit is priced at RM289 and has been made available at all partnering Al-Ikhsan outlets today (Wednesday, 16 November 2016).
