#ZoukClubKL: Malaysia’s Superclub Slated to Relocate In January 2015

Come January 2015, Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur will be relocating from its current site at Jalan Ampang to its new home at TREC and Kuala Lumpur’s largest F&B enclave located along the bustling downtown Jalan Tun Razak. This is as its lease expires on 31st December 2014.

To many, the club’s current location has been iconic for the past decade, with some calling it “home”. Even international DJs/producers recognise Zouk KL as a prominent Malaysian landmark. But it doesn’t mean that the good times will come to an end when it moves to its new site!

With a built-up space of 60,000 sq ft, the new RM38 million nightspot will be the most expensive club ever built in Malaysia! The new Zouk KL comprises 5 clubs, a VIP bar lounge, member’s lounge, cafe and a rooftop deck overlooking the Royal Selangor Golf Club. Zouk KL will also offer a dedicated VIP concierge service.

TREC – which stands for “Taste, Relish Experience, Celebrate” – is developed at an investment of RM323.6m. Comprising 5 zones, the lifestyle and entertainment hub sits on a 7-acre site situated directly opposite the upcoming Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) – the new financial hub of Kuala Lumpur – on land owned by the Royal Selangor Golf Club.

The 5 zones of TREC, each featuring a unique theme, will offer casual and fine dining, indie cafes, wine bars, pubs and lounges. Oh so perfect. Sounds like just the place made fit to house a club like Zouk Club KL!:

TREC is the brainchild of Cher Ng, co-founder and executive director of Zouk KL, and a joint venture between Ng, Malaysian entrepreneur Dato’ Douglas Cheng and public-listed Berjaya Assets Berhad. He started his career in Singapore as a DJ with Zouk Singapore club in the 90s and co-organised the ZoukOut music festival (2000 and 2001) before establishing Zouk KL in 2004.

Meanwhile, the party sure ain’t over yet for Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur fans. Mat Zo and Ummet Ozcan are set to bring the roof down this August and we are so going to be there! Can’t say no to a few great parties now, can we?
