New Balance is set to reissue its beloved 740 sneaker, scheduled for release in the fall of this year.

This heritage running model from the 2000s has been transformed into a highly-wearable lifestyle wardrobe staple. The 740 stands out in the realm of classic running shoes by staying true to its original design.

Originally celebrated among runners for its reliability and supreme comfort, the 740 quickly became a cult favourite. Known for its exceptional pavement-pounding capabilities, the 740 earned a loyal following in the running community. Today, New Balance brings back the 740 with a nod to its original features that made it a classic, now tailored for everyday style.

“The 740 is not just a reinterpretation; it’s a rediscovery of what made the original so special. We’ve preserved the essence of the 740, ensuring that the reissued model delivers the same level of comfort that runners loved, now in a design that fits seamlessly into modern wardrobes,” says Brian Lynn, Global Vice President of Lifestyle, New Balance.

The 740 combines the best of both worlds, blending the technical specifications that runners appreciate with a style that is perfect for casual, everyday wear. From its cushioned sole to its breathable upper, every element of the new 740 is crafted to provide unmatched style and comfort.

The new 740 offers the technical specs that athletes value along with the elegant, classic design that today’s fashion-forward consumers desire, combining the best of both worlds. The reissue features breathable mesh underlays, synthetic overlays, and ABZORB midsole technology for superior impact absorption and cushioning. Additional details include a moulded TPU ‘N’ logo, speed lacing for convenience, reflective accents for visibility, and a durable rubber outsole for long-lasting traction.
