Back in 2020, Tun Razak Exchange or TRX City Sdn Bhd announced the development plans of The Exchange TRX, a lifestyle hub with a mall which will house over 400 stores. Apart from that, it was also announced that the TRX City Park is going to be a rooftop park with a direct link to the MRT station.

The lifestyle district was set to open at the end of 2023 and we’re inching closer to the launch date. As exciting as it may be, netizens are voicing out their concerns about what would happen when TRX City Park officially opens to the public. Here’s what they said:

Yesterday (Monday, 13th November), Skyscrapers MY posted several photos of the TRX City Park which is set to officially open on 29th (Wednesday) November. Located in the centre of the new TRX financial district, the City Park is expected to be the new leisure and jogging area in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, as well as one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city.

According to Pentago, the soon-to-be-opened 10-acre park is said to be the largest rooftop public park in South East Asia which is also accesible via MRT Tun Razak Exchange or a 15-minute walk from Pavilion Bukit Bintang. While some netizens are excited that they’ll have a new park to visit and enjoy during their free time, others express concern about what would happen to the area soon after its launch.

Many took to Twitter to suggest that management should ban Food and Beverages (F&B) vendors from setting up their businesses there in order to keep the park as clean as possible. Some feared that visitors would litter all over the area if food stalls were to set up there. Other than that, some are worried about the space getting too crowded.

Locals are also hoping that there will be more trees to offer shade to visitors during hot sunny days. One netizen even listed down their prediction of visitors’ activities at the park that could potentially ruin its reputation.

All these are valid points from netizens but unfortunately, The Exchange TRX management has yet to address the concerns being brought up. Perhaps more information will be shared once the lifestyle hub is officially open to the public later this month.
