Petrosains has always been a huge part of Suria KLCC’s identity ever since it was established in the late 90s. The iconic science and technology museum first opened back in 1999 and it remains one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city to this day.

A couple of days ago, a netizen who goes by @/magmalaya posted a photo of a long queue outside the famous attraction with a caption that reads, “It’s a great way to teach your children about patience”. The post instantly went viral with many reminiscing about their childhood of visiting the attraction.

While it may not be as popular as it once was back in the early 2000s, Malaysians, especially parents, expressed that they’re still excited to explore the museum. Some praised Petrosains for still being affordable while others are impressed that it still manages to pull in a crowd after all these years.

However, some were worried that this may not last long as there hasn’t been any new addition or upgrade to the exhibits in Petrosains in years. Netizens admitted that while it’s still a fun place to visit with family, they felt like it needed something more exciting to attract more visitors. A few also pointed out that certain exhibits needed better maintenance. Others suggested that Petronas should open up another Petrosains branch to avoid long queues.

There were also parents who agreed that the content and exhibits in Petrosains are outdated but argued that children who are visiting and interacting with the exhibits for the first time will find them entertaining. Even so, there’s no harm in adding something new for returning visitors right? Have you visited Petrosains recently? What would you personally like to see being showcased?
