For many people, getting stuck in a lift is their worst fear – and when it does happen, most would be scared or panic whilst waiting to be rescued. However, this well-known doctor had the opposite reaction, leaving many amused.
Dr Azfar Kamal was recently in the Central i-City Mall in Shah Alam for dinner when he got on a lift with a large group. Unfortunately for them, the lift suddenly malfunctioned, leaving the group stuck in place. According to the doctor, the group was stuck there for 30 minutes, from around 8.30pm to 9pm, before they got rescued by personnel from the fire and rescue department.
However, what caught netizens’ attention was the doctor and the group’s reaction to getting stuck in a lift. In his post, Azfar shared a video taken in the lift when everyone was stuck inside, waiting to be rescued by the firefighters. Despite being trapped, the group seemed calm and was even smiling. At one point, Azfar even got the group to cheer for the rescue team on the other side of the door, which the group happily did.
Azfar also posted the selfie he took with the group in the lift. In the photo, everyone looked happy and didn’t seem distressed despite being trapped in a confined space. Funnily, Azfar snapped the photo whilst the firefighters were busy releasing the doors to free the group, as they appeared in the background.
Many netizens reacted to the post, sharing amusement with the group’s carefree response to an otherwise scary experience. Many said it was funny how the ones trapped inside the lift looked more relaxed than the ones outside. Others joked that the group was only calm because they had a doctor with them. However, some said they wouldn’t be so composed if they were in the group.
It’s unknown whether Azfar knew the group or if they were all strangers before entering the lift – but it’s amusing that they could all be so friendly while being stuck.
