Earlier this year, BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) member Lisa (리사) made her acting debut on season three of HBO’s “The White Lotus”, earning praise from fans and critics alike. Fast forward to today, the idol is looking to take her acting career to new heights.
On 30th September (Tuesday), Lisa’s self-founded label LLOUD announced that the “Rockstar” singer has signed with a new agency for her acting career. The statement writes, “We’re excited to announce that LISA has signed with WME for representation in her acting endeavours as she continues to build a career in film and television.” Similarly, WME also announced the new partnership, clarifying that they will only represent the star for acting and not music.

For those unfamiliar, WME is an American talent agency under Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc. The holding company was founded in 2009 following the merger of the famed William Morris Agency and Endeavor Talent Agency. The agency currently represents many award-winning actors, including Lupita Nyong’o, Winona Ryder and Daniel Kaluuya. WME also represents many athletes and models, including Tom Daley and Bella Hadid.
This move comes after Lisa’s breakout debut as Mook in the third season of “The White Lotus”, which earned 23 Emmy nominations, including for “Outstanding Drama Series”. The 28-year-old also graced the award ceremony, which took place earlier this month. For now, there are few details about her partnership with WME. However, the statement from the agency hints that Lisa may use her real name, Lalisa Manobal (ลลิษา มโนบาล), for her acting ventures.

Nevertheless, fans are excited about Lisa’s new endeavours because many have hoped for her to pick up more acting gigs after her screen debut. While the star hasn’t confirmed any new roles yet, fans are already looking forward to seeing her in bigger productions. In the meantime, Lisa and her BLACKPINK groupmates will resume their Deadline World Tour in October with the Asian leg of the tour, starting in Taiwan.
With a name like WME backing her up, there’s no doubt that Lisa will find success in her acting career. What role do you think will suit the star the best?
