Much loved Malaysian-born actress Michelle Yeoh (杨紫琼) achieved plenty of milestones in 2023, from winning the Oscars with a worthy performance in “Everything Everywhere All At Once” to finally marrying the love of her life. But, it seems another milestone was recently achieved.
Michelle Yeoh was notably in Malaysia recently, spending time with family. Yet, her recent post caught many off-guard when she shared her joy of receiving a newborn baby on New Years Day. While many were quick to congratulate her, other have been wondering who’s baby it is!
Today (2nd January), Michelle revealed some surprising news. “A little miracle on the first day of 2024 ❤️✨ we are so truly blessed… can’t tell you how happy I am for this very very special bundle of joy ❤️✨” she said. Her accompanying photo showed her holding a newborn baby’s leg.
Netizens were, of course, quick to flood her comments section with congratulatory messages. “Congratulations to you and your family, Michelle! Welcome to the world, little one! Hope Mama and baby are doing well,” a comment read. Another cheered: “Congratulations! You are an amazing mom already and your little one is little to have you.”
But, others weren’t as quick to jump on the baby boat and voiced their doubts over the baby being Michelle’s. “Grandkids? Or kids? Either way, congratulations ❤️❤️ a new arrival is always fun 😃” one said. “Pretty sure it’s her grandchild because she didn’t look pregnant this year and we would’ve seen it from her Christmas pictures,” another voiced. A few also didn’t seem too happy about Michelle bearing a child at 61 years old.
Well, Michelle Yeoh has yet to respond to any comments about the baby so far nor offered a clarification about her post. Still, we’re happy that she’s happy about the new addition to the family.

Michelle later clarified that the baby, named Maxime, is the child of her stepson Nicolas and his partner, Darina.
