Over the years, several of our local acts have reached a common milestone in their careers, and that is being featured on one of the most iconic digital billboards in the world. As the saying goes, “If you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere”, and that is exactly what these Malaysian artists have achieved.
Biduanita Negara Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, Yuna, DOLLA and Aina Abdul are among the stars who have been featured on the New York Times Square digital billboard. Another icon has now joined their ranks – none other than Misha Omar.

On 29th September, singer Misha Omar posted photos on her Instagram page announcing that she had been featured on the New York Times Square digital billboard. The artist was selected for Spotify’s EQUAL campaign, representing Malaysia. “Seeing my face on the Times Square billboard is a moment I will never forget in this lifetime. From the bottom of my heart, this is not just my success alone but ours,” she said, expressing gratitude to her fans who have supported her for the past 23 years of her career.
The songstress also thanked Spotify for giving her the opportunity to be part of the EQUAL campaign, which aims to uplift women in music. “As women, each voice we make carries a thousand stories of strength, compassion and resilience. Every time these feet step on stage, every verse of a song sung, and every obstacle we successfully overcome, we are, often unconsciously, building bridges for the next generation of women to shine even brighter,” the “Pulangkan” songstress added.

After sharing the news, fans and celebrity friends took to the comments section to congratulate Misha Omar on this significant milestone. So, what is next for the icon? As previously announced, the 43-year-old will take the stage this November for her “DiA Misha Omar” concert at Mega Star Arena. Further details about the upcoming show can be found here.
