Malaysia’s very own Michelle Yeoh (楊紫瓊) continues to make history in the entertainment industry. The Academy Award-winning actress will soon be the first Malaysian to be honoured with a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On 10th January 2026 (Tuesday), Walk of Fame producer, Ana Martinez, announced the joyous news in a statement, saying, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome actress Michelle Yeoh to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.” The actress will be honoured on 18th February 2026 (Wednesday) at 6927 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.

Michelle will receive the 2,836th star on the Los Angeles landmark, under the “Motion Pictures” category. The event will feature directors Jon M. Chu and Ang Lee as emcees. In the statement, Ana noted the momentous occasion, saying, “Her (Michelle’s) star honours a trailblazer whose work continues to inspire audiences worldwide.”
Fans and netizens have also reacted to the announcement, congratulating the 63-year-old on her latest achievement. Many also quipped that it was about time Michelle was honoured with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, especially considering all her critically-acclaimed work throughout her extensive career.

At the same time, the first trailer for Michelle’s upcoming project, “SANDIWARA”, recently dropped. The short film, directed by award-winning American filmmaker Sean Baker and produced by London fashion house Self-Portrait, stars the actress in multiple roles. The short film will be released on 20th February 2026 (Friday).
Congratulations to Michelle on her latest honour and newest project. We’re sure the star has many more to show as the year progresses, so we can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeves.
