As the year draws to an end, there are plenty of things to look forward to. However, the one thing Malaysians are dreading is the sharp increase of rain and storms. We can’t blame them, we got some very bad flooding in December last year.

Still, there’s no denying how impressive a storm can look. Especially when we’re on the other side of the glass. In fact, just yesterday (4th October), some netizens got a lovely shot of the Merdeka 118 tower being struck by lightning!

  • The iconic skyscraper has been a part of the Kuala Lumpur skyline since November 2021. While many photos of the tower have been taken with beautiful sunrises and sunsets colouring the background, few have managed to snatch a shot of its pinnacle being struck by lightning.

Well, the opportunity apparently came up yesterday, during the evening thunderstorm. While many were hiding indoors, waiting out the storm, others decided to indulge in some photography. Lucky for them, nature decided to grace them with lightning striking the spire of Merdeka 118. With the storm raging in the background, it definitely made for a pretty impressive picture!
