Another week, another whirlwind of totally EXTRA events! We were here, there and everywhere!

We cruised the runway with Mercedes, slayed the fashion scene with Balmain, stepped things up with VIVAIA and more. We were on the scene, and vibing like a boss! Just check out our social diary for this past week (don’t be jelly!):


Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Kuala Lumpur 2024

The Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Kuala Lumpur (MBFWKL) 2024 returned in its sixth installation, showcasing a wide repertoire of cutting-edge fashion and designs, which intertwined with Mercedes-Benz vehicles to form a special connection in defining luxury. Aptly themed “Re:imagine”, the three-day fashion extravaganza mirrored Mercedes-Benz’s focus in creating timeless designs that epitomise exceptional craftsmanship, creativity, and technical expertise. The unveiling of its latest Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC SUV seamlessly blended automotive innovation with fashion-forward thinking.

This year’s event marked a key milestone for MBFWKL, which celebrated its evolution from a local showcase to an internationally-recognised platform. The lineup featured a dynamic mix of seasoned designers and fresh faces, all pushing the envelope with sustainable practices and innovative designs.

Balmain Paris’ L’automne à Bordeaux

Autumn is nearing and we can already hear the sound of the crunchy, fallen leaves on the ground. Balmain Paris held their Fall 2024 Collection showcase at The Starhill Atrium, where we also got the chance to watch the very talented Aisha Retno performing two songs for the audience.

Apart from showcasing the brand’s latest pieces, there was also an auction for the two Balmain bags on display to raise funds for the Malaysian Association for The Blind to support their valuable works. Fashion for a good cause.

Sunnystep’s First Overseas Store At The Exchange TRX

Singaporean footwear brand Sunnystep has officially launched in Malaysia, ushering in a new movement in functional and stylish footwear. The store at The Exchange TRX is the brand’s first overseas expansion – but the team assured customers that more stores will open soon. At their first Malaysian outlet, we got to discover their current range of shoes, which includes sneakers, mules and slip-on. All Sunnystep shoes feature their proprietary Polyurethane Cloud Cushioning insole, which provides support for the wearers, allowing for more comfort and stability.

The launch event was also graced by founder Ting Mao, who shared her story and how she came up with the brand. According to Ting, she founded Sunnystep after discovering a gap in the footwear market for both comfortable and stylish shoes following a spine injury. She said, “I created Sunnystep to help people live well and experience the joy of movement.” Sunnystep is located at L02-08.0.

Susenjiland Pre-Event At APW Bangsar

To mark its 8th anniversary, 3Q International hosted Susenjiland, its inaugural public festival, at A Place Where (APW) Bangsar. The event celebrated local food, health, fashion, and art, offering a platform for community engagement and cultural expression. The first 500 attendees received exclusive perks such as limited-edition merchandise, free Pizza Hut slices, Tealive drinks, and other surprises. 

The festival offered a fun-filled day with thrilling Gashapon games, live music from DJ Blink, and interactive art installations. Attendees enjoyed a wide array of food from nearly 40 vendors. Queenie Kwok, Founder of 3Q International, expressed excitement about the milestone event. “This festival represents our commitment to fostering community engagement and celebrating local talent, with the support of some of Malaysia’s most iconic brands,” she said.

A Store Launch At The Gardens Mall

A Store has finally made its official debut in Malaysia at The Gardens Mall, and we were thrilled to witness the grand launch. The ceremony, attended by fashion aficionados and industry insiders, marked a significant milestone in Malaysia’s fashion landscape, ushering in a new era of sophisticated footwear choices.

At A Store, customers can explore a curated collection of footwear, featuring seven global brands which include Autry, Cariuma, SAYE, East Pacific Trade, Stepney Workers Club, Foot Industry, and Hirundo. Haagen-Dazs x Emily In Paris Watch Party 

Häagen-Dazs merges flavour with flair in their exciting collaboration with the hit Netflix show, “Emily in Paris,“ which sees the introduction of a delectable strawberry-flavoured ice cream that captures the essence of Parisian chic. To celebrate the stylish partnership, Häagen-Dazs threw a fabulous Parisian-themed party, with guests dressed to the nines in their finest French-inspired outfits, enjoying an exclusive viewing of the first episode of the latest “Emily in Paris“ season.

The soirée was hosted at the charming Second Date Patisserie, a quaint little café that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Paris. We indulged in an array of French delights, from buttery croissants and delicate macarons, to strawberry-flavoured milkshakes and ice cream cakes, all courtesy of Häagen-Dazs.
