The recent spike of Covid-19 cases seem to have taken on a domino effect. Just yesterday (Wednesday, 6th January) alone, we found out that tenant employees working in Melawati Mall and The LINC KL tested positive for Covid-19.
This comes after 9 local fitness centres and several other malls in Kuala Lumpur were also affected by Covid-19 over the past few days. Clearly 2021 isn’t starting off on the right foot.
Last night, The Manhattan FISH MARKET released an official statement on Facebook, with the message:
“We are sad to announce that we have a confirmed Covid-19 positive case involving our Melawati Mall outlet crew member. We have been advised by the Ministry of Health (MOH) this morning to close our store from today until further notice to undergo full contact tracing and sanitization in accordance to MOH’s standards.
We wish the crew member who is affected a swift and full recovery. The Manhattan FISH MARKET family is together with you during these trying times.
The fight against the Covid-19 pandemic is a shared responsibility. Let’s do our part by supporting and following the Government’s directions to prevent the further spread of the virus.”
This is especially worrisome for folks living in the area, since KL East Mall and Wangsa Walk Mall – which are only a 5 to 10 minutes drive away from Taman Melawati – had also reported Covid-19 cases in just mere days ago.
In addition, The LINC KL management was transparent in doing their part by informing the public that a staff working at Ben’s Independent Grocer (B.I.G) had contracted the deadly virus. As such, the grocery was temporarily closed to make way for a thorough sanitisation.
At the rate this is going, will MCO be in full effect again?
