Marriage and being parents are two separate responsibilities that requires a lot of work from both sides. When you’re married, you have to make sacrifices in order for the relationship to work and that could include spending more time together as a couple rather than with friends.

If you’re a parent then obviously you’ll have to play your part in raising the child. As the saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child“. The husband cannot expect his wife to do everything herself. Recently, a man was criticised online for ranting about his wife publicly.

A man posted on his WhatsApp status about how his wife would not let him hang out with his friends. He vented his frustration and wondered if taking care of their child is really that hard to a point where he feels like he can’t see his friends.

One person from his contact list apparently did not agree with his statement and decided to share his WhatsApp status on Twitter and it went viral. The original post has probably been deleted but user @annazrulan shared the status on his Twitter and gained almost 1k retweets, 1.3k quote tweets, 1.6k likes and over 100 replies.

Netizens are furious over the WhatsApp status saying the man should be prioritising his family instead of wanting to hang out with his friends. Some quote tweeted the post saying that the man shouldn’t get married in the first place if he’s not ready to take on the responsibilities of being a husband and a father.

The man later found out that his WhatsApp status went viral where he then posted a follow up status. In the now deleted post, the man was furious at being attacked by netizens after his first status went viral. “I know I’m right, it’s the wife’s full responsibility to give birth and take care of the child. I am a man! I’ve provided food on the table, what more could the wife ask for??,” he said.

So far there has been no further updates on the couple but we hope that they could work something out so that both of them can stay happy raising their child while also having their own space.
