Some people have zero common sense and don’t seem to comprehend that public transportation is meant to be used by everyone, so it’s important to be considerate of others. Unfortunately, there have been countless cases of people hogging seats with their items or even men boarding the ladies-only coaches.

As if hogging space wasn’t frustrating enough, this group of male cyclists had to make it even more infuriating by boarding the ladies-only coach and causing inconvenience to other commuters. Here’s what happened:

Yesterday (Sunday, 21st January), Twitter user @/pedoqpop posted a photo after receiving it from one of their followers via DM. The photo showed a group of male cyclists hogging the space in the MRT with their bicycles. This caused outrage among netizens who all criticised the cyclists for being inconsiderate with some wondering if bringing a bicycle on board the train is even allowed.

Thankfully, many provided an answer to that question. Some clarified that, during certain hours, clean foldable bikes are allowed on the train on weekdays whereas foldable and non-foldable bikes are allowed on weekends. What made netizens angry about the post was not necessarily the bicycles but the fact that the male cyclists boarded the female-only coach.

Netizens expressed their frustrations about how there are still ignorant men who refuse to follow the rules despite the obvious pink colour and label to indicate that the space is only meant to be occupied by women.

If you wish to know more about the general guidelines about bringing your bikes and scooters on the train, you can go to RapidKL’s official website.
