We hear wedding bells! 🙂
Sheena Liam, an international fashion icon of Malaysian Chinese descent and the winner of the 2nd cycle of Asia’s Next Top Model (AsNTM), is officially engaged. The model, who has been dating Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic for about 3 years now, took to her personal Instagram to share the good news.
Ernest also shared his “extra” wedding proposal on his personal Instagram – a huge “Marry me Sheena” signboard in Autostrada Kaunas-Vilnius, Lithuania. In his caption, he wrote, “Way too tacky and far too small to express how I feel, but I think @sheenaliam got the idea. #shesaidcan #makeromancegreatagain”
31-year-old Ernest is no stranger to Malaysia. The multidiscipline contemporary and public artist gained worldwide recognition after creating a series of 6 street art murals depicting scenes of everyday Malaysian life for the George Town Culture festival in Penang, Malaysia. His 2 most popular works are “Children on Bicycle” and “Boy on Motorcycle”; a combination of installation and painting allows the outside community to interact with the works.
His murals are now cultural landmarks in Georgetown, complete with plaques and frequent queues of people waiting to have their photographs taken with the works.
Of course, Sheena doesn’t need no introduction. She cemented her status as a force to be reckoned with when she beat 16 finalists (she was one of the 2 representatives from Malaysia) in the 2nd cycle of AsNTM to emerge winner, making her a household name.
When asked about the wedding date, Sheena said, “Summer wedding for Lithuania definitely and maybe one for KL and Penang. We’ll see what my family says.” She has also since changed her Facebook status to, “Got engaged to Ernest Zacharevic”.
