Following the announcement that South Korean pop band DAY6 (데이식스) will be bringing their “Forever Young” tour to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian My Days have been buzzing with excitement. Fans are eagerly anticipating this long-awaited chance to finally see their favourite group live for the first time after years of anticipation.

However, the excitement was dampened when Malaysian DAY6 fans discovered that international fans were also planning to attend the Kuala Lumpur concert. Previously, local fans had been hopeful that the organisers would consider changing the venue to accommodate more people, but with the small venue and limited capacity, many now feel edged out by international attendees who already have stops in their own countries. This has left Malaysian fans feeling frustrated and disappointed, as their chances of attending the concert seem increasingly slim.

Fans on Twitter are fighting against each other, claiming that those from other countries are robbing Malaysian fans’ opportunity to attend the concert. Local My Days have voiced their displeasure, with some urging international fans to skip the KL concert. One fan even tweeted, “You guys were on DAY6’s list almost every world tour,” highlighting the sentiment that local fans are being unreasonably greedy.

Moreover, the tweets from Malaysian fans are primarily directed at Indonesian fans who are planning to buy tickets for the Kuala Lumpur concert. The frustration among Malaysian My Days stems from the fact that Indonesian fans already have the opportunity to attend three different stops on three separate dates within their own country. This, coupled with the possibility that local fans may miss out on tickets due to the venue’s limited capacity, has intensified the online backlash.

At the same time, some Indonesian fans have also spoken out on the issue, agreeing with the concerns raised by Malaysian fans. They clarified that some among them should be more understanding and not act out of greed. These Indonesian fans emphasised the importance of fairness and solidarity within the fan community, urging others to consider local fans’ feelings.

The situation has created tension within the fandom, as Malaysian fans hope to preserve this rare opportunity to see DAY6 in their home country. With tickets in high demand, the debate over who should attend the concert continues to stir emotions online.
