The excitement for the new TVB drama “The Heir To The Throne (家族荣耀之继承者)” continues as the plot thickens to present the characters with more surprises. Malaysian fans are also excited to see more of the country and its local stars in the blockbuster series.
“The Heir To The Throne” is partially set in Malaysia, and many local actresses have made cameos in the series, including Jestinna Kuan and Joey Leong (梁祖仪). Another local actress who made a cameo in the drama was Sandra Lim (林雪卉), but her role was quite significant. Not only did the beauty queen had the rare opportunity to star alongside male lead Raymond Lam (林峯), but she also filmed two kissing scenes with him.
In the drama, Raymond’s character cheats on his girlfriend, played by Charmaine Sheh (佘诗曼), with Sandra. The two first locked lips while at a bar with friends before getting together again in a car, where they get caught in the act by Charmaine. Sandra’s role is vital to the drama’s development as it adds tension to the two main character’s relationship. The scene also went viral, with netizens scrambling to figure out the identity of the attractive woman kissing Raymond in a backless dress.
In an interview with China Press, Sandra revealed this was her first role in a major project since her debut and that the kiss was her first on-screen kiss. She said she was slightly nervous before filming, but Raymond helped to calm her down. The model was also surprised when the director told her to lie on top of the Hong Kong actor for the car scene but adjusted well to the filming because everyone on set made her feel comfortable.
Sandra also spoke about working with Raymond, adding that he chatted with her before filming, which helped her to relax. The Malaysian also said that the star would always ensure she was okay before filming, and after their scene, he would thank her for her hard work. Sandra said, “I respect his professionalism and I learned a lot from it. I also want to thank him for taking care of us and making our shooting smooth and easy.”
It must’ve been nerve-racking for Sandra to play such a role in the drama – but we can confidently say that she did an excellent job!
