While harsh, the reality is that not everyone can work things out with their partners. After falling out of love and reconciling, Malaysian-born actress Stephenie Lim Mei Zhen/Lam Mei Ching (林美貞) announced that she’s divorcing actor Sun Xing (孫興) for the second time.
The actress recently took to Facebook to announce the separation, writing, “Today, I choose to stand up and announce a fresh start for myself!”. Stephenie continued, “I, Stephenie Lim, have officially signed a divorce to end more than 20 years of marriage and the so-called family relationship with Mr. Sun Zing. From now on, any of his actions have nothing to do with me and my children.” She also shared her thoughts about the divorce, agreeing it was for the best.

The public figure previously sparked interest after sharing a Facebook post announcing her “graduation”. At the time, Stephenie never explained the situation, but many believed she was hinting at a split from her 61-year-old husband. In her latest post, the 54-year-old said she sought a divorce from Sun Xing because she could no longer tolerate the grievances she faced from his constant cheating.
Stephenie and Sun Xing have had an on-again-off-again relationship in the last 20 years. The pair tied the knot in 2001 but divorced in 2007 after the actor was caught having an extramarital affair. In 2014, the couple confirmed they had rekindled their romance and remarried after seven years apart. Later in 2019, Stephenie and Sun Xing split again after the actor was caught kissing a woman in public. However, in late 2024, the pair said they were back together.

Netizens have since reacted to the announcement, sharing words of support for the Malaysian-born star. Many hoped that she would put herself first, saying she deserved to be happy after dealing with Sun Xing’s repeated infidelity. Some also advise her not to get back with her former partner. Overall, the comments sent Stephenie love and well wishes for her future.
Divorce is never an easy choice, but in this situation, maybe it’s the best. We’d also like to send our love to Stephenie and hope she’ll find happiness moving forward. What are your thoughts on this?
