Local Fashion Brand Founder Tells Young Job-Hoppers To “Kill Themselves”

Applying for jobs is easy, but scoring an interview and getting accepted is the tricky part. Candidates have to go through multiple interviews and tests in order to get shortlisted and even then, it’s not guaranteed that you’ll be accepted into the company. There are a multitude of reasons why employers will turn down certain candidates.

Some job applicants may lack knowledge while others may lack the experience. There are also candidates who have no intention of committing to any specific company long term. While this may not be a concern for some, there are employers out there who despise fresh grads who have a habit of job-hopping. Take this Malaysian employer for example:

The founder of the fashion brand Cala Qisya, Hazwan Faiz recently answered a netizen’s question through an IG story. In the screenshot above, a netizen had asked for the entrepreneur’s advice on whether they should immediately pursue their degree or work for a year before continuing their studies. The response, however, may not be what they had expected.

“As an employer, I am very against job-hoppers. Even after they promised to give their full commitment during interviews, they’ll resign as soon as they get their offer letter,” said the businessman. He then mocked these candidates, saying that they should at least inform their potential employer(s) that they’re not looking for a permanent position. “It’ll be easier for employers to tell them to ‘go die’ and continue the search for more suitable candidates,” he added.

The public figure ended the post by telling the netizen that it’s better for them to just stay home and not cause any inconvenience for others. The IG story was then reposted on Twitter where it received various reactions from netizens. Many called the business tycoon out by saying they disagreed with his so-called “advice” while others shared their work experiences as both employers and employees.

This wasn’t the first time Hazwan Faiz had shared his thoughts on this matter. Back in 2017, the boutique store owner gave a similar statement on Facebook where he said that job-hoppers should “eat shit and die”. At the time of writing, neither Cala Qisya nor Hazwan Faiz released a statement regarding the recent controversial post. Below is the screenshot of his previous statement:
