The independent record label Ghostly International has been supporting artists of various genres for 25 years now. To celebrate its quarter-century milestone, the brand has collaborated with one of the leading watchmaking groups, Timex, to bring you the limited edition Timex x Ghostly.
To start things off, the Timex x Ghostly boasts a 38mm stainless-steel case with a black aluminium top ring. This top ring features the names of some of the Ghostly team’s favourite cities around the world. But out of all of those names, Ann Arbor is given extra attention, highlighted in “Ghostly Purple” in honour of the city where the brand was founded.
Moving towards the face itself, the watch features a black dial, which helps give off its ghostly attitude. To help break this monotony and be readable for the wearer, the Timex x Ghostly features luminant hands. The pale green light that emanates from these details also creates a special ectoplasm-like effect. And to cap it all off, the dial features both the Timex brand and Ghostly International’s logo, as a testament to the two brands’ partnership.
Underneath all that, the timepiece is powered by a quartz analogue movement for ultra-precise timekeeping. Not only does the stainless-steel case lend itself to being extremely durable regardless of your activity, it’s also capable of resisting water up to 100 metres. The case is made more durable by the custom caseback, which is engraved with the words “Everywhere, Nowhere,” and the specially reinforced crown protector.
A black fabric slip-thru strap that guarantees a snug fit around the wrist completes the ensemble, while also making it easier for those with sensitive skin to wear this functional artpiece for hours on end.
