The Kim Saeron-Kim Soohyun (김새론-김수현) saga continues with more details coming from the late actress’s family. Recently, Kim Saeron’s mother shared more evidence she claims proves the two stars dated when the actress was a minor.
On 26th November 2025 (Wednesday), Kim Saeron’s mother shared four pieces of evidence through her legal representative to refute Kim Soohyun’s recent claims. The actor and his legal counsel previously alleged that the evidence provided from the late actress’s side, which suggested he dated her when she was underage, was fabricated. Here’s what she shared:
Kim Soohyun Drove Kim Saeron To The Airport For A Trip
The first piece of evidence shared was a statement from Kim Saeron’s acquaintance, who revealed that Kim Soohyun drove them to the airport when they went to Jeju Island. According to the acquaintance, this incident happened when Kim Saeron was 18 years old. (The legal age of adulthood in Korea is 19 years old in international age)
Kim Saeron Changed Her Cats Name To A Reference To Kim Soohyun’s Drama
The second evidence shared was a photo showing Kim Saeron changed her cats’ names from Patdeok and Guldeok to Dal (Moon) and Gureum (Cloud). The names are reportedly references to the drama series “The Moon Embracing The Sun”, in which Kim Soohyun played the male lead. Acquaintances also alleged that Kim Saeron referred to the actor as Dal-nim (Mr Moon).
Kim Saeron & Kim Soohyun Exchanged Messages Before & During Actor’s Military Enlistment
The third evidence was a series of messages written by Kim Saeron in September 2017, when she was 17 years old, to Kim Soohyun, before his military enlistment in October 2017. There was another set of messages exchanged in 2018, likely when the actor was on leave from his service.
The first set of messages was forensically extracted from the actor’s device during investigations. Meanwhile, the others were screenshots from Kim Saeron’s phone. The actress’s mother claims the romantic elements in the messages and the use of pet names prove the two were already in a relationship at this time.
Kim Saeron’s Unsent Letter To Kim Soohyun
The last evidence was the letter that Kim Saeron wrote for Kim Soohyun in 2024, which she never sent. The letter contained the phrase, “It’s been about 5-6 years since we met. You’re both my first and last love,” which Kim Saeron’s mother argued is a hint that the pair dated when the actress was 18, under the legal age in Korea.
Kim Soohyun and his legal counsel have responded to these claims, saying, “These are materials submitted to the investigative agency. They are unrelated to Kim Soohyun and solely written by the deceased. They lack evidentiary value.” What are your thoughts on this?
