The scandal of actor Kim Soohyun (김수현) and his relationship with the late actress Kim Saeron (김새론) continues brewing with more damning revelations. Unsurprisingly, these new claims have sparked even more anger towards the now-infamous actor.
Previously, controversial YouTuber Lee Jinho (이진호) sparked backlash for claiming that Kim Saeron was in an abusive marriage and had an abortion. A man claiming to be the late actress’ ex-boyfriend also backed the allegations. Following these claims, Kim Saeron’s ex-husband broke his silence to clarify the rumours about his relationship with the late star. He also included his marriage license with Kim Saeron as proof.
The man confirmed that he and the actress met in November 2024 and married in early 2025. However, the two quickly annulled the marriage following problems with a long-distance relationship because he lives in America. In his statement, the ex-husband denied all allegations of abuse, adding that Kim Saeron wouldn’t have voluntarily visited him in the United States if she were under duress. He also shut down rumours that he forced the late star to get an abortion, adding that she was never pregnant in the first place.
Lastly, the man revealed that an anonymous person had contacted him after the first allegations towards Kim Soohyun surfaced. He claimed the individual tried to provoke him with false accusations about his marriage to Kim Saeron. He added that the person stopped contacting him after he said he would take legal action. The ex-husband ended his statement, urging the public to stop spreading false information about Kim Saeron’s personal life.
The man’s statement quickly went viral and sparked more outrage towards Kim Soohyun and Kim Jinho. Many argued that the actor and the YouTuber were making false accusations to distract the public from the fact that the “Queen of Tears” star was in a relationship with a minor. Others slammed the two for paying individuals to portray Kim Saeron’s acquaintances to raise support for the actor.
In the meantime, Kim Soohyun’s whereabouts have become a heated topic. Recently, the organiser for the star’s upcoming fan meet in Taiwan announced the event’s cancellation. The fan meet was supposed to be the actor’s first public appearance since the allegations came out. For now, reports suggest that the 37-year-old is staying with his family and avoiding going out.
Unfortunately, the issue doesn’t appear to have an end anytime soon. Regardless, the public’s opinion towards Kim Soohyun has dropped significantly, with many saying he should never continue acting.
