Shut up and put your eyeball where your mouth is?

Katy Perry’s new album cover is unlike any of previous LPs. The artwork sees the seemingly naked blond pop star covering her eyes with both hands, but there’s another eye popping out of her mouth.

Spooky is an understatement when describing her album cover for “Witness”. We don’t know how receptive Katycats will be of this image, but you have to tip your hat off to Perry for taking a risk and trying something new yet controversial.

During her recent appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, the hitmaker gave an insight into her first 2 singles, “Chained To The Rhythm” and “Bon Appetit”. “Right now, I think you’re just seeing parts of the body of work and that part is kind of like the sexually empowered and liberated part,” she said.

“So ‘Chained To The Rhythm’ was kind of like the mental, political liberation and (‘Bon Appetit’) is kind of like that sexual liberation because I’m now embracing my 30s, which I think is so bomb dot com, I love it so much,” she continued, before adding, “I love being a woman and I love a consensual interaction. There is nothing wrong with that. We’re all animals.”

In addition to the aforementioned songs, the 32-year-old singer revealed that she had recorded approximately 40 tracks before cutting it down to 15 for the album. It’s been confirmed that “Swish Swish” (featuring Nicki Minaj) is a fun dance song while “Bigger Than Me” references Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential loss.

So will Perry be responding to Taylor Swift‘s “Bad Blood” in “Witness”? “Well that’s not my question to answer — if it’s about me. I think (the album is) a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person,” she previously told Entertainment Weekly.

The entertainer continued, “1 thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not. It’s not about that.”

“Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place. Period end of story. But, let me say this: Everything has a reaction or a consequence so don’t forget about that, okay, honey,” she added.
