“#SpiderManNoWayHomeleak”, “Tobey and Andrew”, as well as “Charlie Cox” have been trending globally since yesterday; not because the final trailer debuted but thanks to 1 person. That infamous person is John Campea.
Yesterday (Tuesday, 9th November), the Canadian YouTuber leaked 2 spoiler-heavy images from “Spider-Man: No Way Home” thinking they were fake. Or did he?
As most comic book lovers would’ve known by now, the first image showed Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield together in their respective Spider-Man suits. The other screenshot featured Tom’s Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei’s Aunt May, Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan, and Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/ Daredevil seated at a table discussing something.
John Campea later admitted that a Sony representative reached out to him to ask how those leaked photos came into his possession. Although he confessed that it wasn’t “ethical” to share the aforementioned leaks (hindsight is 20/20, the YouTuber is adamant that he can’t simply out the person in question.
“I post it, and then five minutes later, I get this call from somebody – I wont say who – saying that, ‘Yeah, uh… these pictures are probably real.’ I’m like ‘are you sure?’ And, like… ‘Uh, look, I don’t know 100% for sure, but I feel pretty comfortable saying that these are most likely real. And I’m like, ‘well, shit.'” So I immediately jump back on Twitter, again only about five minutes had passed, and I delete them immediately,” he was quoted as saying.

That’s not all, John went on to add that there were actually 4 leaked photos from “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. The film critic continued, “I obviously didn’t share the other two pictures, and the other two pictures are the more juicy ones. That’s all I’m going to tell you, is that the other two pictures were the more juicy ones. But now that I know that there’s a strong possibility that they’re real, I am not going to be posting those.”
If you’d like to avoid any spoilers until the movie comes out in December, it’s probably best to mute the word “Spider-Man” on your socials.
