Remember when we wrote about Joe Flizzow sharing his WhatsApp conversation with YB Hannah Yeoh?
During the launch of Def Jam Records Malaysia and Singapore that was held recently, we managed to ask the President to spill some tea about his close friendship with the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community.
When asked about his views on Malaysian politicians, the “Sang Saka Biru” rapper responded by exclusively telling Hype, “For me, if I support a politician, it’s because I support the cause. And (YB) Hannah – being in her ministry – has helped many people like single mothers and also families that are in need of help regardless of races, ages and colour. So, I’m onboard to do anything positive.”
“Plus, the fact that I’ve known her since we were in high school – she was in class next door. So, it’s great seeing friends you grew up with doing great things. I would say that our relationship right now is mainly on social media. But, we’d be texting from time to time if I need her opinion on certain things. We’re cool,” the songwriter-producer added during the interview session.
“In fact, not just Hannah, I continue to be friends with most of the people I grew up with. To me, I think that’s just a ‘Subang’ thing to do. I mean, whatever happens in Subang will normally last you a lifetime,” the 40-year-old hitmaker shared.
Besides that, if you’ve been following Joe on his Instagram, you’ll notice that he also got the chance to fly to New York for the Fashion Week with selected Malaysian names such as Neelofa, Fazura and also Yuna.
“Fashion Week was cool!” he told us, before adding, “I met Anna Wintour. It was pretty cool. Everybody was scared of her. But I told everyone I just wanted take a photo with her, but nobody wanted to do it for me. They were just scared. No one was around her at that time – they were like 10 metres away from her. But me, being the friendly person that I am, I just introduced myself and said hi. I even asked for a photo with her and in the end I just sat down next to her.”
